Optimize Your Website Using the Right Keywords

If you want your website to show up in search, it makes sense that you first need to know what potential web viewers are searching for that makes them a good lead for your business. And then, you need to make sure that your website is optimized using those keywords.  Keep in mind that there isn’t just 1 keyword that works. You need high demand keywords, niche keywords, location-based keywords, and even long tail search terms.  Sounds like a lot right?  Well don’t get overwhelmed, there are plenty of FREE tools out there that will help you figure out which keywords should be included in your content, your headings, your blog titles, your page titles and more.

And one final piece of advice, don’t overload or stuff those keywords into your content. It should all flow in a very conversational and natural way.  This is a big deal and Google has put increasing relevance on making sure your content is pleasing to the user to read. While keywords are very important, creating a great user experience is too!

Test Your Website Loading Speed

If you are serious about growing your business, you need to make sure that your company shows up in browser searches when individuals are seeking the products or services you offer.  Just building a website just isn’t enough to make that happen. Your website needs to be optimized for search, meaning it has to follow a series of best practices that create positive user experiences. One of those best practices is the time it takes for your website to load. Long load times are SEO killers and the result is declining ranking in search engines. I’ve listed a few FREE online resources for testing your website speed. Each of them will let you know whether your load time is acceptable or not.  If it is, congrats!  If not, you need to get it fixed, and fast!   Call your website developer, do some research on ways to correct the issues that were highlighted, or give our VP Brian Rugg a call at 877.799.4256 or email him at brian@tbgl.net for some expert assistance!

Grow Your Audience through Voice Technology

With every week that passes, we figure out how to better leverage our daily Alexa Flash Briefings.  And with every passing week, the analytics are showing us that our audience is growing!  This growth makes the time we put into this new technology so worth it!  One afternoon was all it took to get us set up to broadcast our briefings and develop a strategy and process for getting them started.

Watch today’s Thinking Big with Bobbi B Facebook Show where I’ll be talking all about how other Small Business owners and entrepreneurs can leverage this amazing technology to grow their audience and their business!  I’ll be LIVE on the Think Big Go Local Facebook page at 2pm CST.

Here are a few tools we’re using:

Recording our Flash Briefing – Garage Band & a good Mic (I use the Audio-Technica microphone below and love it!)  And yes, that’s an affiliate link, because like we discussed yesterday, it’s a great way to create additional revenue in your business!

To publish our Flash Briefing to Amazon Alexa – we use Sound Up and love its simplicity!

To publish our Flash Briefing to Google Home – we’re using Trebble FM

Create a New Revenue Stream in Your Business with Affilate Marketing

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking about who you might partner with to generate new revenue streams into your business through affiliate partnerships. I don’t want to see you taking too much time away from your business so think about the people, brands, services, products and events that you already work closely with or that are aligned with your industry.

  • Local events such as conferences, workshops, and more.
  • The brands you use most in your business and that you frequently refer to others.
  • Influencers you follow or are connected with that have online courses or products.
  • The software programs you use and love

Contact potential affiliate partners directly or look on their website to see if they already have an affiliate partnership offered and ready for you to just up with.

This is also something you can in reverse… offer affiliate opportunities so people can drive clients your way and then compensate them for each paid new client.

While this may not make you a fortune, a few hundred dollars of additional revenue each week or month adds up. Take that new revenue and use it for Facebook and Instagram ads and now it’s creating even more revenue!
