Reputation Marketing – Responding to a Negative Online Review

5 Steps to writing a response to a negative online review: 

  1. Take a Deep Breath – let go of the emotion before you write! 
  2. Commit to responding ASAP, definitely within 24 hours
  3. Write your response and have someone else review it to make sure you aren’t being defensive, you’re being compassionate and understanding of the problem and portraying yourself as the best damn business owner you can be! 
  4. Once you know your response is good – post it!
  5. If they reply to your response, you can only reply again 1 time. Try to take the conversation offline if you have to. But never reply more than twice or you’re engaging in an online argument and we can’t have that!
